Kevin Osborn, CEO

Kevin Osborn has over 40 years’ experience in the Insurance and Technology sectors, and has held a variety of Senior Director roles within Business Operations, Sales and Marketing.

A practicing entrepreneur he has built and developed a number of technology businesses, successfully guiding them from inception through development and stabilization, to mergers and/or acquisition in both the UK and Internationally.

Kevin is focussed on extending JDX Insurance’s delivery footprint in both the London and International Insurance markets with emphasis being given to the development of strategic business relationships and partnerships, in particular in the areas of Artificial Intelligence, Robotics and Low code/ No code development.

OUR AMBASSADORS

John Towers

John has worked in the Lloyd’s Insurance market for over 40 years, where he held a Senior Management position in the Corporation of Lloyd’s Regulatory Division for 14 years.

John then joined Christopherson Heath Ltd as Director for 15 years, followed by a Director of Operations position at Advent underwriting where he worked up to 2015.

John joined JDX Consulting as a Senior Advisor for the Insurance Division in 2016 as he wanted to give something back to help young graduates develop the early part of their careers in the financial industry.

Tim Peters

Tim Peters has worked in the specialty insurance market for over thirty years.

After cutting his teeth in insurance working for the broker Alexander Howden Group (Aon), he joined Catlin in 1986 as one of its founding directors and over the years he held various C suite roles.

Between 2015 and 2018 Tim was seconded to China Re Underwriting Agency as its first Chief Operating Officer to set up and run the Beijing Insurance Group’s UK business.

Tim was drawn to the unique opportunity at JDX due to its diverse culture and the opportunity to work with graduates in the early stages of their careers.

Charlie Davies

Charlie has worked in the Lloyd’s market his entire career. Predominantly on the Broking side with the likes of Alexander Howden, Sedgwick, Jenner Fenton Slade and Aon. During that time he focussed mainly on Reinsurance, Specialty, and Carrier Management.

 In recent years, Charlie has focused on finding and resourcing Senior Management positions for various companies across the London Insurance Market.

As a gregarious person Charlie loves working with the young bright graduates at JDX as they look to  help the insurance market become better equipped to take advantage of technological advancements that can make a positive difference to the London market.

Mike Laurenson

Mike, an accountant by profession, has been working in the technology space for 24 years in senior sales and alliances executive leadership roles.  He has experience in owning and building one of the strongest indirect models on the planet at Blue Prism where he spent the last 5 years. 

Mike is very excited at the opportunity of helping JDX drive transformational change in organisations with the support of some of the best technologies on the planet.

Mark Huxley

Mark has spent his life working within and supporting the Lloyd’s and London Market. Originally a Syndicate claims specialist, he went on to help run his Syndicate operationally as well as serving upon a number of Market committees. 

In the late 90’s Mark founded one of the pioneering outsourced professional claims services companies in the UK. His success with this cemented a reputation for him as a business growth strategist which is what he has concentrated upon since times as a consultant and co-founder of a specialist marketing and communications business. Along the way he helped co-found the MGA, Wrisk, a leading insurtech pioneer and having sold his other business interests in 2017 Mark established Cognitive Risk which along with his partner Matt Carter is helping drive digital reimagination in the Lloyd’s & London Market. Aside of this work Mark acts as a mentor to a number of organisations, including the Lloyd’s Lab.

Mark’s life as an entrepreneur was recognised when he was admitted as a Freeman of the Guild of Entrepreneurs, where he was recently elected to serve as its next Junior Warden. 

Matt Carter

Matt is an experienced Insurance and technology professional advocating the benefits of utilising and adopting new solutions to existing problems, experienced in delivering strategic change, having P&L responsibility and managing teams. Drawing on more than 30 years of industry experience, Matt is a creative change agent, equally happy looking at the big picture or drilling into the delivery detail.

Co-founder and CEO of Cognitive Risk, a digital change consultancy focused on connecting smart solutions and reimagining existing working practices through the successful adoption of technology, primarily into the specialist London Insurance Market. Prior to this he was a programme lead for 8 years of an online distribution platform for Atrium Underwriting, a leading Lloyd’s Managing Agency, which grew its product range and delivered over $500m of purely digital income.

Matt is passionate about moving insurance solutions online and making them smarter, especially where online distribution is involved, entrepreneurial having founded 5 businesses, with one software business scaling from 3 to 145 headcount prior to a trade sale exit.
